The short version
- Pick one clear photo: you alone, a group of friends or your pet. For a duo with no photo together, add one photo each.
- Choose 9:16 for TikTok, or 16:9 for YouTube.
- Pick a set on the set list: soul or hip-hop.
- Wait usually 3–4 minutes and save the video.
- Post it with TikTok's AI-generated label switched on.
1. Choose the photo
The video rebuilds every face from your photo, so the photo matters most. Use a normal phone photo with faces toward the camera, eyes visible and even light. A selfie works; so does a group shot where every face is reasonably large. Skip sunglasses, masks and beauty filters, because anything hidden gets invented.
Only use photos of yourself or of people who agreed to be in the video. Do not upload photos of celebrities, athletes or coaches: the viral videos did that, but impersonating real people is not allowed here.
2. Pick the shape and the set
On the home page, add your photo on the set list next to the video. 9:16 fills a phone screen; 16:9 looks like a classic desk concert on YouTube.
Then pick your song on the same set list:
| Set | What you get |
|---|---|
| Soul | You sing a warm chorus at a vintage microphone, with acoustic guitar, keys and a small drum kit behind you |
| Hip-hop | You rap a verse on a handheld mic over bass, keys and drums |
Both sets are 10 seconds at 720p, with an original AI-made song and live band sound.
3. Make it and wait
Press Make my video and sign in. A video usually takes 3 to 4 minutes; you can lock your phone or switch apps, and the finished video waits in My videos. If you signed in with Google and are eligible, you can first try a free 5-second, 480p preview with a watermark.
4. Post it
Download the video to your camera roll and upload it in TikTok. The sound is already in the video, so you do not need to add a track. Before posting, switch on the AI-generated content label in the post settings: TikTok asks creators to label realistic AI videos.
Common problems
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| A face looks a bit different | Use a sharper, front-facing photo with good light |
| Someone in the back is missing | Faces that are tiny in the photo can drop out; crop closer |
| The photo did not pass the safety check | Your credit comes back automatically; try another photo |
| You want both sets | Each set is one video, so make one of each |
